When Daniel was 14 years old he started studying the classical percussion at the Academy of Gosselies where he followed Gilles
Anciaux’s instruction.

t the same time, he participated to training courses of rock drums with Thierry Guttman and Adrien Verderamme at the Jeunesses
Musicales of Namur ("Let's Play Together").
He also followed the instruction of Sylvio Lasco (rock) and Santo Scinta (jazz).
Later on, during the three years he spent at the Jazz Studio in Antwerp, Herman Pardon, Kris Duerincks, and Lieven Venken teached
him jazz, which Daniel will experiment with a few bands with, among others Bas Coïemans, Pierre Vaïana and Gunter Valkenier.

At the same time, he also studied the Latin percussion with Philippe Royer and Chris Joris.
Fan of swing, he followed the instruction of Bruno Castellucci, Mimi Verderame, Stephane Galland, Garet List, Pierre Bernard and Jan
de Haes, during the training courses « Les lundis d’Hortense », « Jazz au vert » and « Libramont ». After which he entered the Royal
Conservatory of Brussels, and followed during two years Bruno Castellucci’s instruction.

Daniel Duchateau gave many concerts at the Music Village, the Sounds, the Rataplan, the Eden, the Spirit of 66, the Marni Theatre,
the Aremberg, the Django Festival in Liberchies, Chassepierre, the Nam in Jazz, the Jazz Jette June, the cultural centers of Commines,
Saint Gilles (Jacques Frank), Evere (Espace Toots) and Berchem (Fourquet).

He also participates to street activities with the fanfare « Marchervin ». Also, he plays at the « Pont en fête », the annual event
organised by the beggars in Charleroi, with the band Santa Swing. He also plays in « Ivan et les singes savants » (chanson française),
"Pianocktail", "Miss Okido" and the fanfare "Marchervin".
