Martin Daniel starts playing the classical piano at 7 years old. Eight years later, he discovers jazz music with Philippe Reul and Daniel Stockart, and quickly starts appearing on
stage.
He follows many jazz training courses (Libramont, Lundis d’Hortense) with, among others, Kris Defoort, Nathalie Loriers, Josef Dumoulin, Bart Defoort, Charles Loos, Erik Vermeulen, Ron
Van Rossum, etc.
In 2002, Martin enters the Conservatoire of Brussels in Eric Legnini’s course. For five years, he deepens his practice of modern jazz and broadens his musical horizons.
Very influenced by hip-hop and jazz-rock, he extends his technique to other electric keyboards (Rhodes, Clavinet, Hammond organ, Korg MS20).

He participates to the creation of the band Rue des Pêcheries, group combining jazz and hip-hop, with which he wins the Prix de la Biennale de la Chanson française in 2004 and records
a first album in late 2007.
Since then, Martin develops a multiple career, on stage and in studios. Invested in the hip-hop scene, he plays among others with Akro and Dynamic for which he records tracks in st
dio.

He continues to explore the current jazz world with the Flying Fish Jumps, in a trio with Malkomes and Jérome Baudart and in a duo with Pierre Spataro or Daniel Duchateau with
whom he perpetuates the tradition of jazz standards.
Besides, he remains very attached to the music of the 70’s, jazz-rock and soul, and belongs to groups like Samayana and Docteur Mabool.
He also accompanies silent movies projections, among others les Films à Rayures, an itinerant show of accompanied silent cinema.

Martin participates in 2008 to the creation of the band le Glü which attempts a live approach of current music (electro/dance/drum’n’bass).
In late 2009, he joins Thomas Hucq and Pierre Spataro (Rue des Pêcheries) in a new trio, Harry Sunk Experiment, which recreates a totally improvised and more experimental hip-hop.
Martin collaborates with the Peas Project on stage and in studio, and also with Squeaky Lobster (hip-hop abstract).

Finally, for many years, Martin has been playing regularly solo in places like the Murmure Café, la Gougoutte à Pépé, the Bonnefooi, the Stekerlapatte and the PP Café.
He has also been animating jam-sessions at the Courant d’Air since 2005.
